I’ve been collecting these snippets of spiritual wisdom for over 25 years. Purposefully, these selections are partisan, off-the-beaten track, and tend to emphasize the more irreverent parts of Jewish tradition.

These texts are assembled in the spirit of a meditative-spiritual tract. I plan to carry them with me, to meditate on specific passages on early morning walks or while sitting in a Jerusalem cafe. They also fit neatly into a Tallis bag, as Torah study for shul or elsewhere.

These words have given me solace, inspiration, provocation, opportunity for reflection, or a smile at some point in the past, and I’m sharing them in hope that they’ll do the same for you.

And one more thing: I have quite consciously made a “red” and “blue” volume. If they remind you of the “Red” and Blue” Beatles anthologies from back in the day… well, know that you’re operating on my wavelength.
