A Tree with Roots – Virtual Classroom

We started A Tree with Roots in December 2019, and we received our nonprofit 501(c)3 status in December 2022, formalizing our vision of creating a virtual classroom for live, interactive, adult-level learning on a wide range of Jewish topics.

We want to make it easy for people to access live classes from their homes or anywhere, and to connect to Jewish learning and community. Neal wrote about it in this blog post.

In three years, we’ve presented more than 50 courses, ranging from one-time classes to longer multi-part courses, as well as holiday events and learning immersions. We’ve also hosted compelling authors and thought-leaders, including the Hon. Michael Oren, Rabbis David Ellenson and Michael Marmur, author Ellen Frankel, and more.

In 2022, we launched our Jewish Literacy initiative, a year-long series of four-week modules on the grand themes of Jewish life and spiritual wisdom.

Eager spiritual seekers and students from across the United States, Canada, Israel, and other countries around the world have signed up to be part of our online community. We welcome everyone who is interested in spirited Jewish learning to join our conversation, no prior experience necessary.

A Tree with Roots relies on the support of participants and those who share our vision of making dynamic Jewish education available to adults, regardless of where they live.
