Jewish Literacy Series: THE PURSUIT OF HOLINESS

3 Tuesdays: May 14, 21, and 28 | 7:00 pm Eastern time

The latest in our series of Jewish Literacy modules!

The idea of the holy is possibly the most important idea that religion offers: the potential for carving out space and time that is sacred and transcendent. It is the place in our lives where ethics and spirituality intersect. Needless to say, Judaism has a deep and rich tradition of understanding the pursuit of holiness. For our next 3-week Jewish Literacy series, we’ll explore some of these eternal questions:

  • Where and when is holiness to be found?

  • If G-d can be found anywhere, how can it be that some places are considered holier than others?

  • Is holiness an achievable ideal, or something that always lies beyond our reach?

  • How does Judaism enhance awareness of holiness in the world?

…And much more. We’ll study together powerful texts from Jewish literature, starting with the Torah and extending through the breadth and diversity of our spiritual tradition. All are welcome!
