Join our online community on Purim Day for a spirited look at the legacy of Esther - in the text of the Megillah, and through the lens of Midrash. She emerges as a most unusual Jewish hero - an orphan girl who finds herself in a buffoonish king’s harem, whose circumstance brings her to a historical calling. We’ll explore how the Sages in the Midrash celebrated Esther while wrestling with her seeming non-observance. All are welcome, for some very alternative takes on the Purim story.
